Tonight the Elwood/Frankton swim team took on Liberty Christian at the Elwood Natatorium. Both teams were very short-handed. The Elwood girls defeated Liberty Christian 84-24, while Liberty Christian boys defeated Elwood 58-23.
Leading the way for the Elwood girls was Addison Updegraff with four wins, two individuals and two relays. Also winning first place finishes was Alyvia Savage, Ellie Laub, Kennedy Perrin, and Katelyn Foor. The 200 medley relay made up of Updegraff, Perrin, Laub, and Savage finished first, as well as the 200 freestyle relay made up of Laub, Perrin, Foor, and Updegraff. Emma Sneed, Kennedy Heim, and Kenzie Oyler stepped up to fill in open spots in several events to help clench the win. Kendall Scott swam a personal best time in the 100 breaststroke.
Chainey Lowe from Frankton had a very nice swim and finished third in the 50 freestyle.
Elwood had only three boys available to compete. Dustin Maseman finished first in the 200 freestyle and second in the 100 breaststroke. Owen Huff finished second in the 200 IM and first in the 100 backstroke with a personal best time. William Worley finished third in the 50 freestyle.
The swim teams will be back in action Thursday evening at home against Blackford.
